i went hiking in malibu yesterday with jen, peggy, and jeremy. holy shit is it beautiful out there. and harrowing, driving-wise. narrow roads along mountainsides makes for fun but perilous rides. but the mountains... rarely have i been witness to something so breathtaking.

happy super bowl, for those who care. i'm sitting here watching the beginning by myself, accompanied only by a six-pack of beer, a giant bag of pretzels, and perhaps a bowl. we'll see. i entered a pool at work for three squares. i've got PHI 0/NE 3, PHI 6/NE 8, and PHI 7/NE 4. that 6/8 one isn't so hot but the others are pretty hot. plus we can win each quarter, so i have a decent chance of picking up some cash today.

i sort of wish they would get on with this stupid game. i appreciate the tuskeegee airmen and all, but how freaking long is this all going to take?? and why is michael douglas on the teevee? shouldn't he be having sex with catherine zeta jones?

do you think she takes it in the butt? i bet she does.

hmm. bush sr and clinton are on teevee together right now. sort of weird. oh geez. aghanistan. iraq. i do think we should support the troops for risking their lives for what is supposedly for our country, but i pray for the day when we don't need to worry about them.

on a similar note, i started reading "dude, where's my country?" by micahel moore. i have mixed feelings about him, but on the whole i have to say i like him. i think he's sort of obnoxious and a little pedantic (quickly looking up what that word means... used it wrong) didactic, and some of his documentary techniques are underhanded, but y'know what? maybe we need someone like that. someone to just get the message across.

ha! that little kid just made the WORST COIN TOSS EVER. WHAT A LOSER!!
